We specialize in the assessment and treatment of speech and language disorders for children ages 2-12. Our mission is to help your child communicate their messages effectively and clearly! Therapy sessions at The Speech Shack are fun, meaningful, and effective because they are tailored to each individual child... no two therapy sessions look the same! We also work alongside parents to provide education, strategies, and home practice activities to support growth between sessions.

Whether your child struggles to produce many sounds, or just one, we can help! After a comprehensive speech sound assessment, we will identify sound errors and error patterns to focus on in therapy. Our sessions are fun and full of sound practice opportunities! We assess and treat articulation disorders, phonological disorders, and childhood apraxia of speech.
We take a child led therapy approach during all sessions. This means that we use your child's interests to indivualize therapy sessions and target language goals. After a comprehensive language evaluation, we can determine the nature of the language disorder. We treat late talkers, receptive/expressive language disorders, and support children who use scripting/echolalila to communicate. We are a neurodiversity affirming practice that is trained to help children move through the Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) stages.
We know that parents play an important role in their child's learning. We provide strategies, resources, and home activities to get family members involved in the therapy process. Together, we can help your child confidently share their messages with the world! We always welcome parents to observe sessions so that we can model strategies that help. Our goal is to give parents the tools they need to continue speech practice at home.

After beginning my career as an elementary school teacher, I earned my master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and found my true passion for working as a speech therapist. Before I opened The Speech Shack, I worked as a speech therapist serving children in local schools.

I founded The Speech Shack because I saw the need for truly individualized speech therapy in our community. I am passionate about helping my clients improve their speech/language skills to increase confidence and success across all settings. I pride myself on being a lifelong learner in order to provide the best, evidence based treatment approaches for my clients.

Outside of work, you will find me traveling with my husband, Nic, and spending time with our two golden retrievers - Ralph and Sunny!

Attend the scheduled evaluation.
This in-depth speech/language evaluation will help me get to know your child, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan. We can schedule weekly therapy sessions at this time.
STEP THREE
Start therapy and watch your child grow!
Speech therapy sessions typically take place 1-3 times a week for 30 minutes. Sessions are highly individualized to meet your child's needs while incorporating their interests. Our goal is to make therapy fun, engaging, and effective!
